What was your service experience like?

“Beatrice was fabulous from the start to finish, before the shoot she took the time to get an idea of not only what we had in mind of location and style, but most importantly she asked for us share a little bit about our relationship. She took all these details on board when working with which was key in capturing the essence our "us" in the shoots. Rather than something staged and serious, she encouraged us to be playful and to just have fun with one another as she snapped away. The outcome was an album of genuine happiness and laughter.
After 12 years in Singapore, we're finally leaving to head back to Europe. I couldn't be more grateful to Beatrice for helping me to capture one of my happiest moments there.”

How did you feel during the session?:

“I was incredibly nervous to begin with. Given my line of work in the magazine world, I'm typically more comfortable behind the lens but am rarely in pictures myself!
But Beatrice couldn't have been more helpful at putting my nerves at ease. Her demeanour is incredibly gentle and warm and she strikes the perfect balance of directing and helping you when you need it, whilst also letting you find your comfortable and natural poses with one another. On multiple occasions, she would lead us to an area that optimised the backdrop and light, but would take her camera and shoot from afar so that we didn't feel the presence and pressure of a camera. When she noticed we were getting stiff or nervous, she would ask us questions or encourage us to whisper into eachother's ear which really got us laughing!”

Was the session different than what you expected? If so, how?:

“Yes! Initially I had requested that the shoot take place at the banyan tree that my fiance Martin proposed to me at. Those images turned out perfectly! But Beatrice went above and beyond and scoped out the area prior to the shoot and discovered several other idyllic spots in the vicinity that we weren't even aware of! After taken plenty of shots by the banyan tree, she placed us in several other gorgeous backdrops, including down by the river and on a bridge that she had spotted. What's more, she did everything in her power to get the perfect shot, even if it meant her getting dirty and lying on her back in the shrubbery.”

What was your favourite photograph(s) from your photoshoot?:

“Definitely that ones that are pure laughter. They're candid and playful and really capture that happy stage in our life.”
